Product and Component Engineering
Component engineering /material engineering is an integral part of our process which starts from quote and extends through DFX, NPI and volume manufacturing. Our component engineers take a deep dive into engineering analysis and evaluation of parts that are to be procured for use in product design and manufacturing. This is to ensure that the specified parts adequately fulfill the requirements. Our engineers liaise with manufacturers, application engineers, design teams and distributors and maintain the database for electronic commodities.
As a protocol, AREL component engineers validate the BOM for part validity, availability (Obsolete or Not recommended for New Design, etc.), shelf life, handling, lead times, RoHS and REACH compliance and several other aspects from the moment the customer requests for a quotation. We advise our customers by proposing the best suitable alternate parts for the discrepancies identified regarding the matters listed above. This gives us as well as our customers the opportunity to react to the changes in market-related to technology, availability, cost and lead times and help the purchase team for quick and hassle-free proceedings. This in turn aids to maintain a healthy inventory and uninterrupted supplies with the shortest possible lead time to the market.
